Judy L. Walsh is a Senior Advisor at BanyanGlobal, specializing in business strategy, family strategic planning and governance, and wealth management. Over the course of her consulting career, she has supported family and non-family clients in North America and Asia and has worked in a wide range of industries including healthcare, finance, industrial services, and consumer goods.
Judy has a special interest in working with family-owned businesses. Her first job was in a family-owned business, where she worked closely with the owner and CEO. She learned first-hand the challenges and competing priorities of being an owner, business-manager, and family member. These complex dynamics sparked Judy’s interest in family businesses.
Her interest in international business grew during her years at MIT, when she worked at Bank of China. Having been born in China and raised in the U.S., she was fascinated by the different cultural norms of doing business internationally. After earning a BS in Economics from MIT, she began her career as a consultant with Accenture, where she developed and executed multi-million dollar strategies for her clients nationally and internationally. She also led the Boston office’s buddy recruiting program to engage and support new talent.
Judy holds an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College, where she was elected to the Student Board and was captain of the women’s hockey team. Her peers nominated her for the Julia Stell Award for outstanding leadership, which she received. During that time, she worked as an associate at Goldman Sachs & Company, in their Private Wealth Management division.
Judy loves to play tennis, ski, and entertain family and friends. She currently lives in Boston with her husband and daughter.
