Alison Hiler is a Principal at BanyanGlobal. She is experienced in family strategic planning and next generation engagement.
Alison first became interested in working with family businesses while supporting the CEO of a Midwest-based family-owned communications business, currently in its fifth and sixth generations of family ownership. This experience exposed her to the interpersonal and intergenerational dynamics at play in successful multi-generational businesses. It also provided a new perspective on her own experience growing up in a family business.
Alison is originally from Indiana where her first summer job was working in her family’s foundry business. After earning an undergraduate degree in Economics from Dartmouth College, she began her career in financial services first as part of the Structured Products Group at State Street Corporation and then on the Investor Relations team at Bracebridge Capital. At Bracebridge she managed relationships with institutional and high net worth investors and assisted in capital raising efforts. In 2013 Alison became a CFA charterholder.
Alison received her MBA with High Distinction from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College. While at Tuck her work with the CEO of the aforementioned Midwestern family business ignited her curiosity and enthusiasm about family businesses.
Alison enjoys running, hiking, and skiing and is learning to fly fish. She has climbed multiple peaks in the Tetons as well as Mount Kilimanjaro. She currently lives in Boston with her fiancé.
