Laureen Robinson is the Staff Accountant at BanyanGlobal. She supports the Controller and manages the daily client-related functions of the firm.
Born and raised in New Bedford, Massachusetts, Laureen spent 11 years exploring and working in different geographies that allowed her to steep herself in cultural diversity: Miami, Paris, Portland (Oregon) and, most recently, Phoenix. She returned to Massachusetts in 2012 to be closer to her family and to return to the community she loves.
Before joining Banyan, Laureen worked as an Executive Assistant for a Vice President at a Boston-area biotech company, which manufactures living skin substitutes for patients with chronic wounds. Most of her career, however, was spent working as a civil litigation Legal Secretary and Paralegal for a knot of law firms in Phoenix. She developed experience in the fields of securities, antitrust, business, real estate and construction law, as well as international arbitration.
Laureen received a Bachelor of Arts in History, with a specialization in global diplomatic and social history, from Portland State University in Portland, Oregon. It was at Portland State that she became deeply involved in global women’s social issues. She currently sponsors an international humanitarian group that helps female survivors of war-torn countries rebuild their lives.
After graduating, Laureen focused on running and completed her first marathon, soon followed by several half marathons, 10ks, and 5ks. When not running, Laureen can be found practicing Vinyasa yoga, reading historical non-fiction or developing new recipes that integrate her favorite international cuisines. Laureen also spends many of her weekends reacquainting herself with New England by exploring its many charming and unique small towns.
