Jack Ely is a Principal at Banyan. Born and raised in the Southeast on a multigenerational family farm, Jack understands firsthand how ownership, succession, and family dynamics shape a business. He brings that lived experience to his work with owners on ownership strategy, continuity planning, and governance.
Prior to joining Banyan, Jack was a consultant at McKinsey & Company, where he advised leadership teams on strategy and large-scale transformation. That work taught him how to bring structure to complex decisions, align stakeholders with different priorities, and help organizations navigate change without losing what makes them work. He draws on that experience to help families move from difficult conversations to clear, shared decisions.
Jack lives outside Chattanooga, Tennessee with his wife, son, and their dog. Outside of work, he enjoys playing golf, traveling, and cooking for friends.

- Jack is a lifelong Ole Miss fan, and on fall Saturdays you will regularly find him tailgating in the Grove.
- Jack previously worked in the film industry and is a member of the Screen Actors Guild.
