Vladimir Ramos Barbieri is a Partner at BanyanGlobal, specializing in shareholder governance, development of the next generation of leaders, conflict management, portfolio strategy among other subjects. Among other projects, Vlad has helped an owner-founder prepare his daughter to be his successor as the CEO and all his three children to be well prepared shareholders; supported the owners of a major multinational through the succession process from around 20 G4 owners to over 50 G5 owners; and helped four sibling owners split their ownership of the operational and non-operational assets.

Before moving to Boston, Vlad led the development of Banyan’s presence in Brazil and most of his clients are in Latin America and the US.

Throughout his career, he has participated in several new business launches and has had key leadership positions as a general manager.

Vlad came to Banyan from HSM, a privately held provider of executive education and business leadership events, where he was the first president of the combined HSM Group companies.

Prior to HSM, Vlad had a 13-year career at Telefonica-Vivo, where he served as the Executive Director of the corporate segment business unit in Brazil and as Senior Vice President in the USA, where he launched and lead Telefonica’s global customer unit. Before joining Telefonica, Vlad worked for The Boston Consulting Group as its first full-time consultant hired for the Brazil office, and at Booz Allen.

Vlad has a mechanical engineering degree from Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica (ITA) in Brazil, and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management. Portuguese is his native language, and he is fluent in Spanish and English. He frequently speaks on the topics of ownership, governance, and development of the next generation.
