Banyan actually practices what it preaches! In addition to being some of the most interesting work in my career, working at Banyan has changed my life at home. I feel like I can truly focus on my family when the work day ends and am afforded the flexibility I need when unexpected things come up. We truly work as a team and support one another fully.
People at Banyan have a unique mix of deep family business industry expertise and empathy for clients and each other. I have grown tremendously through the variety of client engagements and the focus on teaming and learning. Our teams have enabled me to understand complex topics and lead conversations with senior clients (i.e., C-suite executives and the people who manage them: the family owners and Trustees). I am continually amazed and thankful to work with such knowledgeable and caring people.
Our work is incredibly fulfilling because of how closely we work together with our clients. We get to know them well, and we get a firsthand look into how deeply our clients care about their enterprises, their families, communities, and employees. Our clients tend to be very thoughtful, kind, and purpose-driven, and each family member has a unique experience and personality which adds to the challenge and reward of helping them make decisions together.
I am challenged every day by my work at Banyan. Having the opportunity to collaborate with a diverse set of colleagues, plus the chance to think through our clients’ challenges, provides a continuous learning environment. It is also incredibly rewarding to see first-hand the development of my colleagues, especially the newer team members, as they grow in their positions and find their voice. I love how much I’ve learned, and continue to learn, at Banyan.
The job is tremendously varied. My clients are domestic and international, have revenues ranging from tens of millions to tens of billions of dollars, and represent a full gamut of industries. The work changes radically from day to day, but I consistently get to learn from whip smart, innovative, and empathetic colleagues.
