Robert Davies
Senior Banyan Affiliate
Robert Davies has worked with Banyan since 2013, working closely with large, multigenerational family business owners. Robert has supported these families across a wide range of questions including helping to define purpose and vision, governance structure, roots to liquidity, high performance board structure and composition, generational succession, next generation leadership development as well as laying out family councils and family offices.
“Helping Family Business systems stay healthy and prosper is really important to me. They are the life blood of any economy, bringing a long-term investment horizon, a high regard for the people in their employ and concern for the communities they serve.” Robert believes strongly in the importance of following good process, listening, building consensus and inclusive communication as ways of uniting families around a purpose that reinforces common interests.
While having worked mostly for families in Latin America, where Robert supported the development of our local team, he is currently spearheading the development of our European presence. He works with Banyan as an independent consultant supporting our clients who can benefit from his expertise.
British by birth, he was educated at Oxford before joining The Boston Consulting Group’s London Office in 1986. He remained with BCG for 25 years, working in the UK, Spain, Mexico, Argentina and Brazil where he opened BCG’s São Paulo Office in 1997.
Robert now lives in Henley on Thames, near London, with his Brazilian wife and Women’s Leadership Coach, Priscila Filleti and their horse mad, teenage daughter. He is a keen runner and long-distance walker, determined to walk from Oxford to London in one go (that’s about 160 km).
